Ok, so I've been clean and sober for over 16 years now, that doesn't mean that I am boring and glum. I have been divorced twice, once while drinking once when sober. I have two grown children from the first marriage and they both live out of state. They are both in their twenties and neither have kids of their own as of yet. For you that are interested in work stability, I have worked for the same company for close to 24 years. To date I work as an Assistant Supervisor in a maintenance shop. I am a Journeyman Mechanic by trade. I have varied interests, sometimes I read, mainly speculative history, old religions and astrology. I like crafts ... I make a verity of different things. Lately I have been making leather roses and have also been making shirts, mainly sleeveless out of different types of hemp material. I've sewn pants out of hemp. (hemp is more durable and wares better and longer than cotton) For that matter I have four sewing machines and found a light industrial machine for sewing leather. I have replaced zippers in pants. In the past I have done my share of camping, since my kids have grown and left I haven't gotten out and camped as much. I like camping in the sand. I do have three wheelers and small bronco 4x4 and street bikes, one is a Harley Sportster. I like to do day, weekend and long trips on the Harley. I like thrift shopping, Goodwill is great place to get ideas and items for projects. I don't really sell any of this stuff but give it to friends who may like or take an interest in what I have made. I have dabbled in natural herbs and tintchers. I see a natural-path and steer clear of AMA doctors. In my back yard I have built a sauna wplunge. The interior is cedar lined and smells nice. A sauna is a good stress reliever and can be very relaxing. As for the clean and sober, I don't do the meetings like I used to. AA saved my life. I still do meetings on occasion. Since I moved to Keizer I haven't really made any connections with the folks down here, plus I have been working swing for the past two years. As far as religion goes ... I'm Pagan and I follow none. I was raised Lutheran. I have long since stepped away from the church. I will attend wiccan rituals on the sabbots. I would say my favorite is Samhain (holloween) followed by Yule (winter). Don't let that put you off. I don't practice magik, but I do have an interest in old religions, Speculitive history and brotherhoods. |
